Leaving things unfinished, leaving matters unsettled, and then pretending like nothing happened is not a good way of solving problems. It is like you are escaping from the problem you are facing. Problems are meant to be solved. It is not supposed to be kept or or something to run away from.

2nd week as GForum moderator

Finally, it reaches the 2nd week. 2 weeks already but I haven't start any move yet to try implement democracy in GForum. Just recently, a fellow moderator VulpineNinja 'talked back' to me due to my earlier complain about SPAM message (Stupid Pointless Annoying Meaningless message). Right before that happen, a fellow forummer, Ville (formerly known as FrozenHearted) performed the so-called 'test' to see whether the he would get the same error faced by deAngelus. Then RevolutionWorks jumped in and told him not to perform that kind of test since it is a SPAM to him. I feel the same too. However, VulpineNinja challenged it and I posted my message in the Court House to support Revo's idea. That is when VulpineNinja argued. She said the similar test was performed there (the Court House) by other fellow moderator/forummer but I didn't say anything about it on that time. Man! Is it my fault not to realize that on that time? You can't expect me to lurk or read every single post in GForum. Furthermore, I am nobody in that place to only look for other people's fault. Besides it is not my nature to look for other people's mistake. Does it matter whether I realized about it now or before? Does it mean I can't do anything just because I missed one or two rules violation? Goth! This kind of people really need to use their brain much more.

MMA should not be called martial art at all. It has lost the crucial 'art' element that makes any fighting style a martial art.

Weather Prediction

Weather predictions are not stupid no matter how inaccurate they are. They are not supposed to be trusted. They are only supposed to be our guide in order to face the day of tomorrow. That is why it is stupid to fully trust it. It is even more stupid to sue the weather prediction authority because of their inaccuracy as it will only shows your own stupidity. The weather prediction authority always try their best to give more accurate prediction than ever but the more powerful nature never fully cooperate with us, thus making weather prediction always be a gamble.

Pankration

Pankration, Greek's martial art, possibly the mother of all existing martial arts in the world. Developed in Greece about 4,000 years ago, it is most probably the oldest martial art in the world. Pankration, literally means "everything", symbolizes its moves that comprising punches, kicks, joint locks, elbows, knees, and 'everything'. It's influence can be found throughout all martial arts in the world, thanks to Alexander The Great with his mighty army, as well as the Spartan warriors who spread it through Greek's vast ancient empire. Probably when conquering India, Alexander must have left the legacy of pankration to the conquered Indians. When Bodhidharma visits the Shaolin temple in China, there, he thought the Buddhist monks there a form of martial art of what we call today as 'Shaolin Kung Fu'. Shaolin Kung Fu can be considered as the oldest and the most complete form of Chinese kung fu. Other martial arts also contains traces of pankration as well, like Muay Thai, Silat and Karate. All of those can be considered as the descendants of pankration. Of all these, surprisingly, karate has the most similar movement with pankration, despite Japan its distant location from Greece.

Addict-o-matic

I just got a grab on the latest CHIP Malaysia magazine (June 2008 issue). Addict-o-matic is one of the featured web inside. It immediately reminds me of this blog-o-mine. What a coincidence!

Addict-o-matic is some sort of web search that combines several search results from various sources, all in single result page. Pretty new concept, and pretty COOL to me. I absolutely like it. Save time, save effort.

For now, there's not much to offer but it already succeed to catch my eyes. I have a feeling that I'll be 'addicted' to this pretty soon. It is however, highly user customizable, and more stuff is to be expected.

A week as GForum moderator

Things seemed to have settled down. No more intense debate about 'democracy', except for some isolated 'heated' related discussions. Perhaps it's just those people with extra privileges that over reacting with my ideas. Proof that they are too serious in 'virtual life', although they themselves told me not to take forum matters 'too seriously'. Ironic, isn't it?

For me, extra privileges means power. Power means leadership. Leadership means politics. With democracy being implemented, we should be able to bring the political affairs towards a larger audience in any community, which would resulting finer decisions towards any kind of positive development.

Synesthesia

Synesthetic people perceives sounds like watching psychedelic light show. Some are even worse to the extent that they 'hear' with their eyes. Some people might also experience this temporarily or occasionally.

Acceptance & Understandings

Acceptance and understandings are two different things. For example, take a look at this sentence:

"I do understand your opinions but I see the flaws in it thus I reject it".

See how acceptance and rejection are supposed to work there? It proves that acceptance and rejection don't mix.

1st day as GForum moderator

Acceptance among other forummers are still low. Many still see me as incapable of doing my job since I am the only moderator who is appointed from those who 'revolted'. Besides, it sounds like I am appointed to let me show how democracy will work in a forum rather than to help in forum moderation. I never expected to be a moderator there, but since I am now one of the moderator, I have to expect lots of bashings & insults from not only other forummers, but also from fellow moderators who dislike the idea that I'm becoming one of them. It seems like I was appointed to allow me to show my ideas about democracy is right rather than to help with moderating jobs.

Their historical record has been traced rooting all the way back to as early as 7,500 B.C., almost right after the end of the last ice Age. Perhaps they are the first civilized human nation. However, despite all this, it is still a mystery why they are always enslaved throughout human history, or even if they are free, they are at least very dependent on other nation to survive.

Democracy in GForum - Analysis

Recently, there has been a hot topic being discussed between me and some of the higher ups there. "Democracy in GForum", that ws the topic. Now I'm posting my analysis here as any further discussion about it is no longer possible, thanks to some arrogant people there.

I don't like how the higher ups treat the forum as if it is belongs to them forever. Never I see people who did oppose the higher ups being appointed into the line (except for VulpineNinja perhaps?), although chances are they might do even better if they ever given the chance. Only the people with no potential of performing reformation have the chance to be considered as the successor, as if there are people in the higher ups fear of putting their position on the stake should they ever appointed someone who would oppose them in the future. If they didn't then why'd they hesitate to practice democratic system? Prove that I'm right or wrong please? (And I need to be proven in both way to get a fair justification).

That may be just my theory but I'm here to prove whether my theory is true or otherwise. Does it hurts, people? A good leader should not feel insulted by a matter like this. Majority of other forummer may seems happy with the current leadership line, most probably because they don't have any other option or just simply don't given the chance (because it looks like they're not even allowed to complain). The only choice they have is to forcibly comply with whatever decisions made by the higher ups.

Giving a petition to the webmaster might be a good idea for a change but I can't directly do that without analyzing the current situation here beforehand. Oh, GForum is not supposed to be like armed forces where the higher ups are either appointed or promoted. Even the military itself has a different position in real life hierarchy. That's why they have different ID card & privileges. However, when it comes to choosing the leader of the nation, they are still allowed & encouraged to vote in elections.

Oh, some people in GForum keep mumbling about comparing the forum with a real nation is bad. They said it should be viewed at smaller scale? Too bad but i still consider GForum as a nation, at a small scale.

I still believe the rights to choose the successor of a leadership in both real nation & forum should belong to the civilian community, not the leadership's predecessor. 3 years in GForum might not that long, but for me it is more than enough to assess the political situation. In real life we may require 5 years to do so, but since there are people want me to treat the forum 'like a forum', I suppose 3 years should be adequately enough.

Oh, don't get the wrong idea about democracy in GForum, my friend. While some people think deploying a real governing system in a forum is stupid, then isn't the current one relies on a system similar to that of military, which is a real governing system itself? Sounds like those people are insulting themselves for practicing something stupid. Funny, isn't it? Say, if practicing democracy in GForum is stupid,what would be 'smart' then? I feel bad when some people unhappy if they ever governed by monarchy or communist system in real life (and prefer democracy above other things), but when it comes to internet forum, they don't mind at all.

Purchasing a copy of intellectual property is exactly the same with purchasing physical property. Lets say, if you buy food, even in the name of 'trying', you must pay, unless declared otherwise. There is no exception for whatever action you taken. It is even worse if you don't feel guilty even a bit out of doing such action.

The creator of any intellectual properties automatically have the copyright reserved for him, even without the intervention of law, since he HAS the right to do so, no matter how we are not happy with it, unless declared otherwise. That is why he always has the right to charge for every copy of his works, even the trial one, if he think it should. We, the buyer never own the entire property even after purchasing it since what we get is just a copy of the original, which always resides in his brain. That is why distributing intellectual property without the consent by the original author is a violation of human rights.
