Malaysia is indeed was the land of the Malays, until it was shared among other ethnics

The title speaks by itself. Any attempt to deny the Malay's ownership on Malaysia is like denying the birthplace of the Malay people itself. Every race have their own origin. If the Chinese came from China and the Indian came from India, where else the Malays could have come if not here? We can't say the Malay race just popped up somewhere. True, the Malays have their roots to the ancient Indonesian but as we know today it was on that time that the Malay people already populating this part of the world and eventually became separated from their ancestors, developing their own unique racial identity. It is more like the Chinese, Japanese & Korean were descended from the same Mongoloid ancestors, and then later having different sets of languages, cultures & lifestyles. Malaysia once belongs to the Malays, and there's no doubt about it. If it wasn't the Malays who first opening the land, building settlements and creating the foundation, there will be no Malaysia as we know today. Malay is not a new race. It has been around since the 1st century, although the term 'Malay' might first came up in the 10th century. But still that makes a lot of sense for them to be an older race than many European race. We know European didn't have that many race in the past, during the reign of the Roman Empire. There were just the Romans, Germanic tribes, Indo-Europeans, Nordic, Gauls and a few other more. It was only later that they have the English, Hungarian, Scandinavian, Russian, French, Spanish and so on. As a matter of fact, the Malays already lived in a proper house when the Britons were still live in caves & simple huts. In other words, the Malays were the first to be civilized before those European race, although later they became the first to become developed nations. Well, the Malays would have became developed earlier if it was not because of their stupidid blind-loyalty to their kings.

say farewell to blogger?

Now I'm thinking to leave right-o-matic to make way for tumblr (http://halfey.tumblr.com/). I have a mixed feelings about this, a feeling of both love & hate. This is considered my first blog, even much older than yougotta (http://blog.yougotta.co.cc). It's not that I really wanted to leave it but I can't deny tumblr is much more easier & convenient to use (except for the 3rd party widgets though this can be added via theme mod). For now, until I figure out how to export all articles here to tumblr, I'll stay here for a while. Even if there's no way for tumblr to import all articles here, chances are I might need to copy-paste them over to tumblr one at a time.

Funny Conversation: Sudah Potong? vs Jangan Potong! (Cut Already? vs Don't Cut!)

Alright, the image above doesn't have anything to do with the following words. It's just that I'm using the relevancy of 'potong' (literally means 'cut' in Malay language) that may also be translated as 'circumcise' (or  'sunat' in Malay language) according to multi-cultural Malaysian. The following is a footage from an internet 'conversation' (not chatting LOL) between me and my friend, Darren, that occurred right in the night before Eidul Adha (Raya Haji) a couple of days ago.

(Take note: The conversation is done in Manglish so it would be best to consult a Malaysian if you don't get what is happening)

halfey: tomorrow after Eidul Adha prayer I gotta help the ppl at nearby mosque to 'take down' some cows & goats (and get some free meat later)
Darren: cruel!kill animal......
halfey: what to do... no kill no meat. can't say that cruel. ppl kill animal for food everyday
Darren: ya la...nt cruel... sunat will be cruel a bit....haha
halfey: no ppl die from sunat means not cruel oso LOL sunat is the proof of being 'heroic brave man' LOL
Darren: wah... ur parent also muslim??
halfey: ya
Darren: i c... damn.... last time u circumcise by doctor o tradition... may be dec i'm potong also. sakit o nt?
halfey: not that painful, got anesthetic at hospital. I even joking at the MA trainees on that time LOL
Darren: wat is MA?
halfey: Medical Assistant
Darren: oh... hw long to recover?
halfey: with good care, usually take less than a week, or 2 weeks to completely recovered. I played football after 2 weeks LOL
Darren: last time while my friend play football kena his friend who jus cut for a week....
halfey: his fault for playing football too soon, not the potong fault. Should have waited for at least another week
Darren: haha.... if i nt mistaken , all iban must cut, right?
halfey: not really, my papa cut only after he convert
Darren: i c...
halfey: last time I don't even realize when the MA started the cut. The moment I realized everything's done. So quick
Darren: they use operation gunting? hw old u cut?
halfey: they used some surgery tools I don't know the name. More recent practice uses more advanced tools of course
Darren: wat bout d tradition 1?
halfey: I cut by the age of 12. I laughed at the boys who are school bullies but crying like babies in the same operation room with me LOL
Darren: u evil!! hahah u say u bulky, but nt bully at school
halfey: no use bully ppl maa (although I might have bullied some if I got the chance but I never LOL)
Darren: u sure....! hard to believe sagitaurus so kind....
halfey: no, I'm a tamed tyrannosaurus LOL
Darren: wat bout d traditional ,must be hurt,,,
halfey: unlikely since the traditional circumciser today uses anesthetic too. Rest assured
Darren: use parang?
halfey: modern tools. In the past they used some special 'surgical' blades, not parang
Darren: actually most asian nt chinese r cut... like philipine
halfey: well, some see it as tradition, while some see it either as compulsory or obligation. As for me, I see it as a test of courage

The following conversation after that is even more 'interesting'.

Darren: u know? i worry a bit about sex after that...
halfey: don't worry la. science proved that circumcising added more resistance towards STD. but that doesn't mean you can sleep with a prostitute LOL
Darren: haha! oh... wat is STD?
halfey: sexually transferred disease, like syphilis, gonorhea, etc.
Darren: i c...
halfey: hey! wanna know something better about circumcision?
Darren: wat is it?
halfey: with your circumcised 'thing', there's no 'excess skin' getting in your way during sex = better performance LOL
Darren: haha!

I must say some sort of soft attempt to condemn my religious practice has failed in a good way, and thank God it's a good thing that he finally come to an understanding why Muslim do what they're doing.

SSD - The Future of Consumer Hard Disk Drive Technology

Honestly I'm not buying it when people saying that SSD hard hard disk are still "too immature". SSD technology is already here so it is no use to be anti technology now. Don't be like TMNUT who are anti technology too (yes, because they're anti-wiMAX, another form of new technology).

I remember back then people said the same thing ("...immature technology...") when SATA first emerged in consumer market but soon it proved otherwise that it is not as immature as claimed by those skeptical anti technology folks. As we can see today it has completely replaced the IDE (PATA) drives as consumer PC standard.

How's the performance? Since flash memory is flashy in speed (hence the name 'flash') it can be sure that SSD hard drive is as fast as an average RAM module or USB flash drive. if not faster. The only bottleneck that prevents it from reaching its peak performance would be the interface it is using. SATA interface sure is fast but not as fast as the system bus that is used by system memory, thus u got the idea how it would hamper the drive performance down but still, it is faster than any magnetic plate based hard drive. Booting up and shutting down a PC would be a speedy experience, so do when firing up application.

So how reliable this SSD hard drive is? I bet it is just as reliable as your average USB flash drives or RAM modules, if not better. In fact, they might be much more reliable than traditional metal plate based hard drive since they don't have any mechanical moving parts. You might not need to worry about your PC is being improperly shutdown because there is no flying head reader on the spinning platter to leave any damage on it (since there's no spinning platter at all to begin with).

The usage of flash memory to house an OS has a history way as far as 2003, when the company Nimble Microsystems released the Nimble v5 computer (pictured above). The VIA C3 CPU powered computer was quite powerful to host an average personal website where it can cater quite a number of hits at one time, and its OS (WinXP) was installed on a Compact Flash memory card. FYI CF cards uses IDE (PATA) interface but this 'weakness' is compensated by the speed of flash memory. In other words, should it equipped with SATA interface instead of IDE, it would be a vast improvement in terms of seek/read/write speed. Now, imagine that card to have the same form factor as an average HDD, boost it up with multi GBs of storage space, throw in SATA interface and you'll get a full-fledged SSD hard disk drive.

I also remember back then about a PCI card that allows us to install several RAM modules on it and use them as a speedy system storage as if they are a real hard disk (intended to be a 'scratch-disk' or 'swap-disk' for some applications that require them like Photoshop). Well, unlike the flash memory drives we know, RAM modules can't store information without being powered, thus the card has it's own battery that can 'hold' the memory state for weeks and will always be recharged back when the system is up. Speed wise, it is fast, with the only limitation to its speed is the PCI bus.

Alright, SSD hard drive today is still too prohibitive in price (the bucks/GBs ratio is still too small) but that will definitely change when people start to switch over it and it become mass produced. Anyways, if I got money, there's nothing would hold me back to get it now

Why we must drop our poll in National Election

No matter how we hate to get involved in political matters, we must not avoid to cast our vote in every National Elections. We are a citizen of a country and we are nothing without a country. On top of that, a country needs political power to manage and administrate it. That is when our votes become significantly important.

In many nations in the world, especially the democratic ones, polling is the best way to choose the one who will lead the people. However since citizen consisting of many people, which means there will be stages or levels of elections need to be done. In that case, any election would start from selecting a people's representative from local electional area.

Now comes the tricky part. People always complaining or giving excuses for not to go voting by saying "none of the candidates are good people". Well, nobody is perfect in this world and we should not blame the 'imperfect candidates' because we are just another imperfect person ourselves. In other words, who are we to complain about that? Therefore no matter what we must cast our vote or if you happen to still not happy with the candidates then how about considering yourself to be another candidate or at least naming a candidate before the campaign? If even that is impossible to you then don't fuss over the 'imperfection' anymore. This is what we should know that no matter how good or bad the candidates are, there are always somebody better between them, if not the best.

The worst game in history: Eliminating Otaku

Thanx to a friend-o-mine, I came across to a blog that the sole purpose is to 'eliminate otaku wannabe' or 'eliminate failed otaku' in a game called "Otaku Elimination". Sounds lame and pointless, even at it's name, isn't it?

About the so-called 'game' itself, for the author, any attempt to to show one's fondness on figmas as well as linking to Danny Choo will blindly be deemed as a Danny Choo wannabe or a failed otaku. Some said his writings are so professional but no matter how 'seemingly professional' his writings are, what he did is so wrong in many ways, at any level. He is biased, prejudice & mala fide from the beginning so he never 'played the game' on an even field. There's no way he might have been fair if his attitude is like a crap like that. Acting like he is the authority of the 'English-speaking otaku' is out of approval.

Perhaps the guy's just having a grudge against those who think they're otaku (bcos he think he's the ultimate 'english' otaku of all) or rather he's just having a grudge against all otaku. Personally, I think he must be an obesed guy with thick glasses who is fapping to his PC monitor the whole day that even his meal need to be served by his mother (judging from the way he wrote most of his articles). Seriously, who do he think he is, acting like the authority to approve whether other ppl are otaku or not? He don't even dare to give his real name let alone his face but he openly assaulting the otaku who he deemed as ugly. What a looser himself we have here, I must say.

For other people/otaku out there, don't let this put you down. Raging against him at his blog would won't do anything so my suggestion is write something about the 'game' in your own blog and spread to the world about how bad the 'game' is.

Time to get back to (serious) business

Oh shoot I wonder how long I've been absent from blogging? Well I'd like to blame the broken template but the rational part of my mind holds me back. It's not that I've never consulted the author but it seems like even he himself don't know where things have been wrong because everything seems alright, at least at the codes level. Let bygones be bygones huh?

Some people also asked me what about yougotta? It's not like I am abandoning that blog either, it's just that wordpress has become more complicated to use with newer version. To make things worse, they update the software too fast that I can't really cope up with. I guess I'll just archive it for now. That's what so great about hosting your own blog on your own server where you have total (almost) control over your web content as well as the database. As for me I'd just backup everything including the database (thank goth wordpress uses MySQL) then I can just restore it should I decide to continue it from where I left later on.

Deepest condolence: Ust. Asri Ibrahim of Rabbani

(Picture sourced from Rabbani's official website at http://www.rabbani.com.my/)

One of my favorite local singer, Mohamad Asri Ibrahim (pictured above, sitting second from right) has passed away on Thu, Aug 13 at 10.30 am local time. He is the leader cum lead vocalist of the religious music (nasyid) group Rabbani. For me, he is the irreplaceable vocalist of Rabbani as he has a unique voice not found in any other local nasyid singer. His Arabic-esque voice was notable ever since the group was still under the Al-Arqam Islamic movement. Rabbani was formed in 1997 after the original nasyid group, Nada Murni (whose members was comprised of the present members of both Rabbani and Hijjaz) was disbanded following the declaration of Al-Arqam as illegal due to the movement's religously-corrupted actions. Before that, Nada Murni's songs were always used in local TV religious shows and has gained massive popularity.

The Melancholy of Google Chrome OS

(The image above is the snapshot of the Google Chrome browser, not the OS)

My, my why must the word 'Chrome' is there when there's already a browser with the same name of which they developed both (the OS & the browser) themselves? Somehow, it's kinda annoying as if the OS have something to do with that browser. I think I have an explanation (assumption) on this. Read on...

I'm not expecting much on the newly announced Google Chrome OS, although I've predicted years ago that Google would make their own OS someday (of which I dubbed as 'Google OS' on that time), given the tech skills they got. Why?

1. Perhaps because it is too late for any new OS to appear to make a change? I think things would be different if it was released 2 or 3 years ago when a new OS release would make a major impact not only on computing but also user experience as well. Apple is going to release Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard soon (or already?) and Windows 7 is just around the corner while Linux, particularly Ubuntu keeps being better and better each passing days. That makes Chrome OS almost irrelevant according to today's computing standard.

2. Not everything is connected today as Google assumed. True, cloud computing is the 'in' thing today but good and affordable internet connection is still scarce like oasis in the desert. I mean internet connection is everywhere but not that many people are lucky enough to enjoy it, especially in the 3rd world nations that consisting the largest group of people in the world today. I'm currently using 3G; sounds hi-tech but then even that one shucks terribly (terrible, because port forwarding on 3G is like a taboo. Can you imagine that?). For many people, computing is still something that is better offline most of the time. In fact, many people still prefer doing their work offline as they only see the internet as nothing much but an extension to the existing phone networking/connectivity. Honestly, I see the advent of Chrome OS is like Google's (evil) attempt to make people switching their computing way from offline to online. In other words, to force people to rely on onlineservicesfor all their computing needs. It sounds bad in some way or another, at least for me. Evil? Maybe not really but Google itself can be considered as an online (virtual?) company that relies on people's usage/utilization of online services to make money, which means the more people use online services, the more money they can get (even though most of their software are free). In this case, offline computing is like a bad thing to them.

3. It is Linux-based. I've tried several Linux distros and I must say they're ain't that bad but Chrome would be a BAD OS if it still feels like Linux when using it. Although Mac OS X is Darwin-based (a POSIX compliant, Linux-Unix flavored OS core) but they managed to churn-out something innovative and visually attractive from it. Unless Google can do something similar to what Apple had done, Chrome OS would become another lame OS.

Still, I'm looking forward to the OS as well since I'm the long time (veteran?) Google search engine user.

From Google official blog, I learned that Google Chrome OS is targeted primarily for netbooks, and netbooks are designed primarily for internet browsing, nothing else.

BTW, also from their official blog:

"Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks."

Look at the bold-ed word. The word 'initially' clearly states that their intention won't stop at just netbooks. Besides, it was Android that intended to power both smartphones & netbooks but somehow Google dropped the idea and go for a separate OS instead. The thing here is, Google did not see the web as 'web' but as a 'platform'.

Now back to the earlier point; why use the word 'Chrome' when they can just use 'Google OS' instead? Somehow it feels like the OS is like a fullscreen version of Google Chrome browser that sits on top of Linux kernel and can be boot-up as a standalone OS. Now that makes me wonder is it really a new OS or just a new version of the Chrome browser or even a new Linux distro? Or should I say it's the Google Chrome browser in the guise of an OS? LOL

That surely sounds funny for me. BTW Google has the reputation of turning ordinary apps into killer apps in their class. While not every Google Labs graduate knocks it out of the park, the batting average at Google is extremely high. Google Earth, Google Maps, Picasa, Google Desktop Search - these are all category killers. Remember MapQuest? Remember Adobe Photo Album? These applications were quite dominant and Google shoveled dirt on them. And it wasn't power that brought them to the fore, it was simply that they were better applications. Google Earth is practically miraculous considering the volume of data and processing that it must require, yet it runs more smoothly than iTunes. Android may not great to compete with Symbian for now but it's new yet powerful presence already enough to make Apple sweating to boost their iPhone OS to be more appealing among users. Let just hope that Chrome OS will retain that reputation too.

Google may be a 'new evil' on the block but at least for me they are more tolerable than the Big Blue. If Apple is the king of innovation when it comes to hardware, then Google is undoubtedly the undisputed king of innovation in the software land.

Don't be evil? Hmm... Forcing people to rely heavily on the web 2.0 services... Definitely sounds like a new evil. Storage made available online, media player made available online, office suit made available online... what's going to be stored offline then? That makes the development of larger capacity PC local drive seems pointless if they are going to be only for the installation of the OS & hardware drivers alone; or even no HDD at all since the OS may comes in the form of Live CD or Live USB. Cool or st00p33d?

With this one, our future computing may only be possible if they are connected to the internet or else it would be a useless piece of metal box. Today we are happy with offline computing, as long as everything we need is installed in the local disk. Now Google is going to change that; again, forcing us to pay exorbitant monthly broadband bills in order to keep our computer 'alive' while they are making money when we access our media files stored online. WTH

And so she's angry...

Urgh! My girlfriend is mad at me she don't want to pick my call right now. It's all because of last night's story. She invited me to stay overnight at her (parents) house. She said she has a surprise for me and didn't want to give me any hint about it. Too bad something came up at my house and I can't go anywhere that night, even canceled my sports meeting. Only later I found out that the true purpose she wanted me to be with her was because she wanted to watch 'hanabi' (fireworks show) together with me. How come I forgot about the hanabi show? Yeah, it would be a perfect romantic view from the balcony at her house but I screwed things up. I thought it would be OK since it was just hanabi but I didn't know she valued it so much. Girls are pretty hard to understand...

Looking for new (free) web hosting service

I'm planning to relocate my other blog (you gotta...) to other web hosting service. This is going to be the 4th time I switch my host. 'You gotta...' recently has experienced several difficulties (slow loading, slow response, etc.). This might be resulted by traffic throttling, probably due to the fact that it might have exceeded the monthly allocation of bandwidth. That's why there are no new post from me in that blog. Now I'm going to switch the host so anybody out there who know any good free web hosting service please respond to this post. The service must meet these mandatory criteria:

1. Must be 100% free and always free. I hate demos/trials.
2. Linux server host. If you're unsure about this just tell me which provider then I'll check it myself (Linux server offer chmod security to protect unauthorized access, unlike Windows server)
3. Must offer at least 5GB web space; the bigger the better (preferably those with unlimited space)
4. Must offer at least 5GB monthly allocated bandwidth; the bigger the better (preferably those with unlimited bandwidth as well as those with separate bandwidth for both data access and data transfer)
5. Must support at least both PHP & MySQL database (PERL & Java support would be an added bonus)
6. No forced advertisements by any means. I want to put my own ads and don't want those unwanted ads infesting my site.
7. Requires NO forced forum posting in order to get the service. I don't mind forumming but usually most of such forums have limited scope of discussions (only allow discussions about web hosting and related stuff; no other discussion like anime/manga/games are allowed - st00p33d!)

--------------------------------------------------

Also it would be nice if the service:
- allow adult-oriented web (I might want to show some ecchi [not-hentai] images some times)
- allow file-sharing service (people might want to share some media with other users)
- allow image-hosting service (I might want to create my own image channel)
- allow proxy-hosting service (if possible, to allow people to browse through the proxy to be anonymous)

If you found any free web hosting service that complies to the above description, please kindly reply to this post (in the comment of course). By the way, DO NOT simply give me a link to other service provider-listing web or telling something like "Google for it" because I want YOU to give the direct link to the provider. Besides, if Google really could help me, I wouldn't have posted this article in the first place. If you still telling me such things then I'm afraid that I have to say you are st00p33d.

Even 'GOD' need sex too - SuzuHaru2 ep. 2

Haruhi is at it again. As a ‘God’ herself, she enslaves others to do things such as forcing her way through others like how she single-mindedly planned on how to fill their summer vacation without really discussing the matter with other brigade members.

No matter how I look at it, SuzuHaru 2 still lacks something that I have longing for to appear in the series. Where are the non-human race like elf or higher beings like *ahem* ‘another God’ or an angel or even beings from the underworld like a vampire or a werewolf (or a ghostly entity/creature for that) or perhaps a hi-tech android. They are all bizarre/weird/odd/strange that I am certain will make Haruhi excited for sure.

p/s: With ’slave’ as the key word rather than ’servant’, I think Kyon will most likely become Haruhi’s sex slave in the future. LOL

The Blog Theory 2

There are at least 2 ways of blogging.

1. Writing all your thoughts in only one single blog.

This is the most common but it does not always mean it is easier to manage because grouping everything under one roof means you have to double your work organizing post tags and where/when they should appear.

2. Having multiple/separate blogs to accommodate different style of writing.
This is the blogging style adopted mostly by professionals, to distinguish their professional thoughts from their works, but might require them to manage multiple pages at one time.

Each ways described above have its own advantages and disadvantages. For instance, having only one blog means the blog will most likely to be frequently updated since you can always add new articles regardless of their subject. This is different with multiple blogs since it is not always for you to be able to regularly update most of them because different ideas come at different time. However, multiple blogs looks more professional since different subjects are categorized accordingly, and serious stuff are separated from the casual ones. Therefore, visitors can predict and expect what is most likely to be found on those blogs without have to be confused by inconsistent articles, thus greatly saving their time from browsing through randomly written articles as in a single blog 'blogging system'.

KORG Kaossilator - Musical instrument for the music nubes

Upon the first glance, nobody would think this is actually a musical instrument, until they see the name "KORG" at the top. This is KORG Kaossilator, yet another digital music synthesizer form KORG. You may have heard the name 'Kaoss' in the form of 'Kaoss pad' before right? FYI, Kaoss Pad and Kaosilator are both KORG products. The Kaossilator are indeed the much smaller siblings of its big brother, the Kaoss Pad. While Kaoss Pad was designed as a tabletop instrument, Kaossilator fits perfectly in your arm, if not in your palm. It is powered by 4xAA dry cell or 4.5V DC, which means you can 'play' it anywhere provided there are adequate sound system to complement it. Consisting of a boxy-shaped yellowish chassis, a knob, a volume dial, a 3-digit display, an indicator LED and a few buttons as well as a track pad slightly bigger than the size of your average notebook trackpad, the device is very simple with the RCA-out and a 3.5mm earphone jack being the only output options. The concept of this baby is very simple. It is as easy as playing the game "Electroplankton" on Nintendo-DS (I you've ever played that game you'll get the drift). Let a tone-deaf person practice for a few hours and he will be able to perform some good music in no time. There are a selection of 100 sounds to meddle with and you can start creating music right away by moving your fingers around the trackpad. It is unclear though whether it support multi-touch or not but that would be cool if it is. You are also able to record a loop and then layering them to create a multi-piece performance but don't expect it to match even a simple 8-piece classical orchestra, since it is intended more towards Rave, Acid and the likes. Being the true performance instrument, the only bad thing about this stuff would be the unavailability of digital interface (USB, optical, etc.) to either connect to a PC or just to record your generated music. That means once you turn it off things you created with "sweat, blood and tears" will gone. Well, just like the game "Electroplankton" as mentioned earlier, there is no way to digitally save the music once you finished performed, although there is a rumor that the next generation of Kaossilator (as well as the Electroplankton game, although that game has nothing to do with the device) will allow music saving on memory card (let's cross our fingers on that). Sad, it is but that is what to be expected from the so-called 'beginner' instrument. At approximately RM600, it may be overpriced for a 'simple' instrument but for for a tech geek or anybody who can't play any instrument but want to have a piece of cake of live musical performance, it is recommended.

Early look at SuzuHaru 2

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is officially out. Take a look on the snapshot of the brigade's club room scene where Haruhi was planning something for the upcoming Tanabata Festival.

I don't feel like to give any spoiler but I can say Haruhi & Kyon have met each other earlier than most of the fans think. Also the adult version of Mikuru made her appearance in this very first episode.

Baik punya music video

Michael Jackson (LOL-Tamil version).

This video is intended to be viewed by Malaysians only. Sorry if you can't understand any bit of it. LOL

halfey and vampire

Phew! I completed both season 1 & 2 of Rosario & Vampire ia a row. Season 1 is just a recap since I’ve watched it sometime last year, but season 2 (Capu 2) is new for me (I just finished downloaded it last month).

Having used to originals all this time, I was almost crying to know that originals have become harder get this days. I have no other choice but to resort to downloads. True, the legality about downloading anime episodes, even the unlicensed ones are arguable but I don’t think I can wait any longer. I even going to subscribe to 3G by as early as next month. Welcome aboard to the ‘torrent-ing’ club, myself.

This maybe late but I can’t stop smiling when watching each episodes of Capu 2. Just like the1st season, fanservice is utilized perfectly in the 2 season, which means every moment of the fanservice have its own purpose (in this case is for laughter factor of course). However, this time the fanservice has become more daring, where there are more topless moments, albeit no t1ts are shown.

I’ve always see the other Moka (the vampire one) as ‘cool’ and it is a relief to see more of her appearance in Capu 2. Although unexpectedly, I am pleased to know that the vampire Moka also harbored her romantic feelings on Tsukune. I have a mixed feeling though on Ruby this time. Since the season 1, I’ve been admired her. Honestly speaking, no matter how I look at her, she really looks like my girlfriend. Maybe that’s what makes me feel excited whenever I see Ruby? However, in Capu 2, she was ‘exposed’ several times (we can see the sexy part of Ruby which was not available in season 1)). Of course I like to see it but that makes things unbalanced. I personally think that Ruby should remain ‘concealed’ just like she was in the first season.

Now,thinking about it, in season 1, vampire can’t soak in a pool/sea but in season 2 she is bathing at onsen? And what kind of vampire that does not burnt by sunlight and why Tsukune didn’t transform into a vampire himself after surviving vampire’s bite? Hmm? Hmm?

6-inches of glory!

6 inches... that is quite long... for a man's... hair. That is the average length of my hair as of current. It has been only 2 months since the last time I cut my hair, but on that time I left only 1 inch length on my head. Then within these 2 months, they have grown another 5 inches. Quite fast, ain't it?

Come to think of it, the longest hair I have ever kept was... let just say it was long enough for me to tie them up. It was the hair I kept for 2 years and luckily I was staying with my uncle on that (who had shoulder-length hair himself) or else my father might have forcibly cut it if he ever saw them.

Usually I cut my hair every 3-4 months or until there are at least 10 people complain about it (whichever comes first). Back when I was still in school, I my hair grow even faster that I have to cut them once every month. Missed one month and the teachers would notice them.

Now you know that I used to have long hair. That was before I join the public service. Wonder what happened to them? No, I didn't cut them because of I was going to work or forced by my father. At first some people told me that I look like a girl, added with my naturally red lips as if I put on some lipstick. WTH? Can you imagine that?

Even with my bulky body, there are people see me like that? Then I let my beard grow long to 'compensate' the so-called feminine look of my face as a mean to appear more 'manly'. Then, people told me I look like a girl with beard!!! Damn! So I cut my hair on the spot and I never keep long hair anymore since that day. Even if I want to, as a government officer, it looks like 6 inches is the maximum length I can keep right now. :-(

'Good' eroge is 'good' (slurp!)

(This article may appear disturbing or offensive to certain group of audience. Viewer discretion is advised. Read at your own risk.)
Once again I got an eroge from my girlfriend (she downloaded it from the internut, thanx to the people from HongFire). This time the eroge is not the usual visual novel or ren'ai type but more of an anime girl designing software.

3D Custom Girl is a game produced by TechArts3D. Released sometime in last year, this game features tools to create your own virtual anime girls and do 'this & that' to them. You are offered with a wide selection of body features as well as costumes and accessories and the best part about this game is, it is expandable via custom mods made by fans available for download from the internut.

As you can see, the picture above is the example of how capable this game to create seemingly unlimited different looks of anime girl. Requires Pixel Shader 2.0 GPU, the games have some issues to concern about, ie.:

1. Rough & thick outline, as if they are drawn using the Microsoft Paint. It still look choppy even with the best anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering enabled.

2. No AI. The girl just let you do anything when you 'bone'-ing them without any sort of 'counter-movement' or something like that, which means quite boring for 'experienced people'.

3. No detailed body texture by default. You have to apply mods and service packs in order to experience more graphic details (especially for those who are intending to see the girl's womanhood - LOL!).

4. The guy's manhood is way too small. To think of it as part of yourself is extremely not recommended. (LOL!)

5. No tools to allow you to customize facial features, height, body size and 'chubbyness' (like those found in The Sims 2). You also can't control 'loliness', though loli-body mod is available if you are too desperate for a virtual loli. By default, you have to stick with the same face and body size no matter how you dress or 'decorate' them.

6. The worst of all (at least for me) is no foreplay. You go straight to thrusting without the fun of teasing and licking and kissing and sucking and ..... (that's enough).

7. Can't create male characters, considering that some girls or gays may be interested to share a piece of the cake. Some people may want to have guy on guy or girl on girl or 3-some or ..... (Ergh! I told you that's enough!)

8. No tools to create the surrounding environment. It would be better if we could create our own nice looking virtual bedroom before we 'settle things down'.

9. No self-stripping mode. You have to strip the girls yourself before 'getting into serious business with them'. Weirdly enough, you can thrust through their panties (???)

10. The auto mode does not automatically change position. You have to manually change the position to your liking.

Well, that's what you get for having a virtual girlfriend anyway. However, this game also have a good point too. You can easily create existing favorite characters as long as you have the required mods. From my experience, I don't need any extra mod at all to create Haruhi and I can create a girl that 95% resembling Miku Hatsune using the default installation as well. Oh! Did I tell you that you can cum inside as much as you want? The best of all is, you can control the breast size - perfect for those who have fetisch on flat-chest (too bad there's no way to modify/adjust the waist and hips size). LOL! Sounds interesting to you? No, I'm not telling you where to exactly to get it. The only clue I can give you is, ask the people of HongFire.

This game is recommended for nerds who can't find real girlfriend and like to fap on nekkid anime girls in front of a PC.

"Why d'you play the game?", you asked me? Well, I like to use this game to aid me in character creation for my next artworks.

Schit! Dammit! Why do I sound like an experienced guy? Argh!

Halfey's 13 law of anime making (resurfaced)

Making anime? OK but please consider these rules first:

1. Remember that anime is just an alternative to live action show, it is not a replacement.

2. You may use exaggerated graphical/visual effects, but never use it excessively to the extent of ridiculous looking results.

3. When designing a character for anime, make sure they are cute enough as if they are going to appear in an eroge, or to the extent that some doujinshi-ka would use them in h-doujin, or even able to make otaku go crazy on them. Don't worry if that kind of thing really happen because it only shows that your design is really good.

4. Avoid the intentional usage of fanservice for serious anime, or at least keep it minimal. Do not rely entirely on fanservice as they does not always produce the intended result.

5. Know your target audience, don't frustrate them by ignoring them.

6. Make your story as consistent as possible, know properly where to insert fillers.

7. Use your story to attract viewers instead of depending on character visual appearance alone.

8. Put extra work to make your anime 'cross-platform compatible', I mean, adaptable into non-anime form like manga and games without major changes.

9. Conclude as many things as you could in any season finale, including the first season. Remember, people watch your works for entertainment, therefore don't expect them to think of the ending. It is your job, not them.

10. If possible, guide the audience throughout the development of the story by leaving some clues in every episodes. People like to think about the next episode more than thinking for the non-conclusive ending.

11. The first few episodes are crucial to keep the audiences stay loyal until the end. Put extra work to make them as attractive as you could.

12. Anime is a serious business. Make sure your anime fits the 'seriousness' of the business.

13. Last but not least, make your plot flexible and listen to feedbacks. You might need to do some adjustment for the upcoming continuation episodes based on comments you received.

Well, that's all for now. I am no anime expert but at least please consider the above as my suggestions for future anime releases. Have something more to add? Put them in your comment please

Tears To Tiara - Episode 3

Tears to Tiara TV ep. 3 has been aired. New character, Morgan (it sounds like a male's name?) was introduced. She is an energetic girl, and is deemed inferior to Arthur in terms of warrior skills, thus having her granted with the 2nd warrior of the Gael people. For me, she somehow resembles Mayumi Thyme of the Shuffle! anime series in many aspects.

Now I started to realize how many similarities this series with the Roman history. As a self taught Roman historian, I can say that the Gael people is analogous to that of Gaul people (or even Gaelic tribe of the Dark Age Europe), the Holy Empire to that of Roman Empire and Albion is of course, to that of Britain. And I wonder why the Japanese anime makers always tend to refer to ancient as Albion rather than the actual name "Britannia"? Although Albion is also from Graeco-Latin language which literally means "White Land" (probably because of the whitish geographical feature visible from a distant view), Britannia is more popular amongst native European since the ancient time, despite the name Albion itself is regarded as the oldest known reference to the island of Britain. Japanese oh Japanese... (drat...)

Back to the series, Morgan, quite soon after she met Arawn, offered herself as his second wife. It may be weird but polygamy is like, acceptable in the Tears to Tiara world. Well, harem and polygamy is to be expected from an eroge adaptation after all, and Tears to Tiara is no exception in this case. Character design wise, the anime adopts the design used for the PS3 version of the game, which looks cuter and *ahem!* (Morgan appears way damn sexier). Too bad the PS3 version is not available in English for now (like I have the PS3 anyways) and I'm not sure whether the PS3 version is a H-game like its PC counterpart or a general viewer version. And why the PS3? The game only use anime-ish graphics so using PS3 platform is like, a major waste because anime-ish graphics does not utilize PS3's graphics processing power to its fullest (but only a very small fraction of it, to be honest)...

In episode 3, the story still retains its bloody war scenes. Gaius, the general of Holy Empire army also having first encounter with Arawn himself, and he started to build some kind of obsession towards him.

It was revealed that the Gael people are descendants of the people of Albion kingdom, an ancient government that has collapsed many centuries earlier. After the confrontation in the episode 2, Gael people has declared independence/rebellion against the Holy Empire and fled to Albion, the homeland of their ancestors.

Personally, I don't like Arawn since his very first appearance in episode 1. He may use his brain more compared to other characters in the series but I prefer Arthur despite his stupidity. I also dislike the fact that Rhiannon is so attached to Arawn just because he has saved her life only once. Ergh! Anyway, I'll just enjoy the upcoming episodes and hope to understand things better while playing the eroge version as well.

The Melancholy of a Yaoi Fangirl (or a Yaoi Hater?) - part II

(in addition to this post)

2 months have passed since the 'fateful' day that I found my girlfriend's yaoi manga collection inside her laptop. After occasional lovers fight associated with the event occurred, we still keep the normal pace of boyfriend-girlfriend life. She even still lent me her laptop whenever I need it and even more open about her 'peculiar' interest with me now. However, both of us are still in the process of reconstructing our relationship after facing the hard time.

To be frank, I will NEVER accept the fact the she is having that kind of interest. It is normal for a guy to like hentai (because guys are creatures that turned-on visually). However, it is totally weird and absolutely abnormal for a girl who likes to read yaoi manga, no matter how straight she is to go out with a guy. Come to think of it, why it has to be yaoi? If it is because they don't prefer hentai as hentai may give them 'mental experience' then why bother to go for something sexual?

I'm sorry to say this but to all female yaoi fans out there, what you people do is not the same or comparable to that of what the guys do with hentai.

Crapedia

Wikipedia is crapedia. Why?

1. The man behind it is the same man behind the adult entertainment industry. Allowing your kids to refer to wikipedia while you know about that fact is like accepting the idea of some porn directors teaching real academic subjects at schools.

2. Notability is not enough. Aside from being notable by having genuine authored references, the material to be published also must have been recognized by having awarded or so. This is crazy, considering that wikipedia should deliver any knowledge that supposed to be spread (as in 'knowledge for all'), not being too restrictive and selective like this. This is totally opposite and against the nature of an encyclopedia.

Common mistakes in anime production

Stereotypes and misconception by the Japanese anime makers:

1. A Chinese must have some stereotypical Chinese appearance (the males have pigtail hairdo or the females have the twin hair lumps, wearing clothes that may resembles cheongsam or quipao. What the..!? No Chinese really look like that!

2. Arabs, Persian and Turks are deemed the same!

3. Islam may not exist at all, or even if it is, it is displayed in the form of antagonist or terrorist. Even worse, some of them even 'converted' to Japanese, adopting Japanese name and lifestyle referring to Kasim 'Kashimu' > Seisuke Sagara in FMP! and Soran Ibrahim > Setsuna F. Seiei in Gundam 00).

Japan may be one of the most technologically advanced nation in the world, however they are always misunderstood about the outside world, especially foreign culture while they themselves single-handedly always busy promoting and spreading their own culture to the rest of the world. In fact, they are still very much isolation like they used to be centuries ago. This time it is not because of their foreign policy or mindset, but due to the language barrier. Relying heavily on hired translators/interpreters making them heavily influenced by the unreliable translations/interpretations.
1. Words I may derive from the word 'anime': animestic/animestica, animatic, animous, animesque, animesco, animeish

2. I discovered more more than one way to cook curry, by using the same kind and the same amount of ingredients.

3. Web 2.0 and the so-called 'webtop'. If webtop were to replace desktop OS, isn't it means the future desktop OS would become very basic with only full-featured web-browser and multimedia capabilities are present, since everything from storage to media layer will be made completely available online? It also means internet is crucial or compulsory for future computing. Just hope that internet will be highly available, reliable and affordable on that time, or even free of all costs.

Tears To Tiara - Episode 1

This is the first time for me to write a 'real' anime review and this is the first time I volunteer myself to follow a development of an anime series. It is not that I don't like anime but the actual thing is I rarely immerse myself in new anime because I am quite picky when it comes to those things.

Alright, Tears To Tiara is an anime adaptation from a RPG PC/PS3 game with the same title which is launched some time ago and it is produced by White Fox. The anime is very new and in fact the premiere was just shown in Japan on February 6 2009. Thanks to the international anime series cable-satellite channel Animax, this anime has been made available worldwide simultaneously, complete with English and/or local language subtitle. This is the first time an anime series being aired in the same time with Japan, and it is also most probably the first time Animax bringing a very new anime to its international audiences.

Watching the first episode (the only available episode in the time of writing this article) gives me a mixed and unexplainable feeling. On some part it feels like watching The Lord of The Rings, while the other time it feels the opposite and even that is also unexplainable. Maybe I was just too excited or something I can't explain as well. However, the story is so intense, reminding me of the anime Claymore I watched a couple of years back, where we can see people killed and blood spilled (seriously!).

From Animax:
Set in a fictitious land during a medieval-like era of magic and fantasy, Tears to Tiara unfolds with the Divine Empire's rise to power as it conquers and rules lands far and wide. On the island of Erin, still ruled by the Ancient Kingdom, the Goidelic people are attempting to sacrifice priestess Riannon to revive protagonist and demon king Arawn to lead the resistance against the Empire. Although the ritual fails and Riannon survives, the seal imprisoning the demon king is broken and Arawn is resurrected. Armed with mysterious and devastating powers and a human's demeanor, Arawn joins Riannon, her brother and battalion commander, Arthur, as well as their team of fighters comprising a swordsman, an archer and a quintet of magical pixies, in the epic struggle against the Divine Empire.
I think that's all I can give for now. I don't mind writing spoilers but I don't feel like to write it right now either.

EDIT: My article on Episode 2 can be read here.

One Nation Malaysia

Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei were almost becoming one nation in the past but things didn't go well due to some stupid people and their stupid actions. i don't really mind though since what has passed is past, but I always wanted to see really close and united close strategic regional relationship between these countries like, like what we see in US-Canada, France-Monaco and many EU members. However the separation now is not entirely the fault of all these stupid people of the past. It was some stupid people in Singapore on that time that voiced out the so-called 'Malaysian Malaysia' at the wrong time. These people were just too greedy and impatient when there were already the independence but they wanted more than just that after the country gained independence around a decade earlier. The idea was a total absurd on that time considering that many mainland Malays were still suffering from centuries of oppression by the colonials. It's not that the the idea is not acceptable and the Malays are not weak or incompetent either but they have been weakened by the foreign powers. These foreign powers were actually fear the potential of the Malays that they ruled them in such a way of suppressing them.

On the other hand, Brunei never become one with Malaysia because some stupid people there were refusing and also it was because somebody want to keep the title 'King of Malaysia' exclusive only for Brunei Sultanate, as if other malay states don't have their own sultan. Not only that, some people today also too stupid, struggling to restore sultan's immunity and totalitarian power. Thanks to these people, Malaysia today still inferior to some other smaller and younger nations, as well as lagging quite far behind in many terms such as technology, economy, military, civic awareness and even entertainment.

Halfey on How Stuff Works

How "light bulbs" really work? They should really be called Darksuckers. See, what they do is you turn them on, and they suck all the dark out of the immediate area. Once the dark is sucked out, you can see in the area. The more powerful they are, the more Dark they can suck.

Of course, they can't STORE the Dark that they suck in. It has to come out somewhere. That's why the clouds coming out of power plants are usually black - they're chock-full of all the Dark that's been transmitted back down the lines to the power plant. If the clouds are coming up white, then there's not much Dark in them, which means it's probably daytime and more people are keeping their Darksuckers turned off.

It's slightly a different process for your air conditioner unit, which is just a giant Heatsucker unit that sucks heat out of your home and dumps it back outside... (because 'Cold' is not as 'manipulateable' as the 'Dark'). What do the air conditioner unit do is actually removes moisture from the air. That's why it is called a Air Conditioner, not an Air Cooler. The cooling effect is just a byproduct of the moisture removal.

By the way, 'Coldsucker' actually do exists, which are used to keep rooms warm.

Is your curiosity cured now?

Halfey's Lolicon Life

Answering "Why lolies?" and "Why lolies never too young for you?"

They're the best. Old enough to breed and young enough to make me nosebleed!

They're old enough when they leave school and they leave school at 3:30 so why should I wait any longer?

If they are old enough to pee by themselves, they are old enough for me.

If they are old enough to sit at the table, they are old enough to 'eat'!

LOL! No offense people.

MAKE EARTH HOUR HAPPEN IN YOUR TOWN
A list of ideas you can implement, no matter where you live!

8:30pm Saturday 28 March 2009

In 2007, more than two million Sydney businesses and households turned off their lights for one hour - Earth Hour - sending a powerful global message that it’s possible to take action on climate change.

Just one year later, Earth Hour reached more than 50 million people in 35 countries across 18 timezones, and the campaign shifted from a Sydney event to a global sustainability movement.

In 2009, Earth Hour aims to reach one billion people in 1000 cities worldwide. If you want to bring Earth Hour to your town or city on 28 March 2009 at 8:30pm, this will help you get started!

Your Goal

Get the most people, businesses and government involved in Earth Hour and get them to turn off their lights for one hour at 8:30pm on March 28, 2009.

Making Earth Hour happen

1) Building your team

A good team is one of the biggest success factors for making Earth Hour happen around the world. Put together a team of committed people and organizations to help plan how you can turn out the lights for one hour in your area.

Members of your Earth Hour Team could include your friends or schoolmates, members of your family or your neighbors, the local mayor or business leader, or your local school principal.

Pull together a team of people and organizations willing to put the time and effort into making Earth Hour happen and you’ll be ready to get started.

2) Spread the word about Earth Hour

To inspire yourself and those you speak to about Earth Hour, check out www.earthhour.org to watch the Earth Hour video. This video will go a long way to inspiring you and those you speak to, to get involved in Earth Hour and to help take a stand against climate change.

Think about how you could spread the word about Earth Hour in your area, how can you encourage the most people and businesses to turn their lights of for one hour at 8:30pm on Saturday 28 March 2009?

Thinking small can be big thinking

We’ve created a website to help you spread the word about Earth Hour. Register at www.earthhour.org and recruit your friends to the Earth Hour cause. Getting your friends and neighborhood involved is the easiest way to be a part of Earth Hour and help make a difference to our planet.

Think big

Who in your town uses lots of power? First stop? The city. The city is one of the largest users of power in your area. Write to your mayor or present the Earth Hour idea at your local council. If you can get the city involved in turning off their non-essential lighting for Earth Hour (you can leave street lights on for safety), your town can make a huge difference.

Office buildings and big retail stores also use a lot of power. Write to the businesses and stores in your area and ask them to darken their buildings, neon signs, stores and restaurants for one hour for Earth Hour.

Ask your favorite restaurants to have a candle-lit dinner hour (using beeswax candles of course) and feature fresh “cold” dishes in the menu or use local products.

Write to your local newspaper or television channel and tell them what you’re doing - try and get some news coverage of what your town wants to do for Earth Hour and the planet…think big!

3) Be creative!

As well as asking as many people and businesses as possible to turn off their lights in your city or town at 8:30pm on 28 March 2009, think creatively about how to bring your friends and family together for the night.

Organize a “block party” in your neighborhood with “in the dark” games and activities, organize a movie or music night at someone’s house, look up at the stars, use the hour to talk about what you can do every day to save energy.

Think about the different ways to have fun with Earth Hour.

4) What to do everyday

Turning off your lights for one hour at 8:30pm on 28 March 2009 is the first part of getting involved in Earth Hour. Making a difference to the future of our planet by making energy savings every day is the second part.

When spreading the Earth Hour message, don’t forget to encourage your friends, family and workmates to turn off unused lights and appliances every day of the year.

5) Make it happen

Every town and city is unique and can bring its own special touch, identity and passion of its communities to create its own Earth Hour on 28 March 2009. But making Earth Hour happen is up to you! Whatever you can organize to help turn out the lights on 28 March – whether it’s a backyard barbecue or asking your local mayor to turn off the city’s nonessential lighting - will be a success. You can make Earth Hour happen if you work together.

Join us for Earth Hour at 8:30pm Saturday March 28 2009!

My Passion?

This is what I get from my passion quiz at facebook:
Your Passion Type

Passion is your middle name

Key Traits: approachable, enthusiastic, energetic, open-minded, positive, animated You are a positive spirit bundled with insatiable enthusiasm. You aren't hesitant about diving head first into new adventures and relationships. Although you might find yourself surrounded by people similar to you, you are about as open-minded as can be. You love to absorb yourself into different cuisines, different sights, different cultures and even different opinions. That's why, when seeking a romantic partner it's more important to you that they possess the same enthusiasm for life and love, rather than the same stance on a political proposition. There are few things you find more attractive and appealing than meeting that special someone who can hold his or her own in a debate AND go adventuring with you.

I wonder if it is really like me though.

Wait! It says "your passion is your middle name". I wonder which one it is.
