The Melancholy of GForum Registrant (part II)
reppu_kiri: You always call people who talk about moral in forum as 'moralfags'. If it is stupid to talk about moral in forum, why do you become a staff member in the first place, enforcing forum rules and banning pr0n then? Isn't that contradicting your own statement and look stupid? You also think that my judgment is defiant but the truth is, you will see anything that defies you as unjust.
RevolutionWorks: I know it was not your decision to suspend rage&burn, but IT WAS YOUR IDEA. Y'know what? It's not that I am always siding with anyone who oppose you people, but in the case with Ville, I was siding with her although I also have some unsettled personal issues with her as well. I think it is not about who I am siding with, but more of who I am opposing.
deevon: You think I was greatly failed to do the 'revolution'? No, but it is only in your imagination. You are the one who are currently in power and it is your failure to seethe right reason of why we need a change. We need a change because we need to break the tradition. What a shame, when you said that I was greatly failed but unfortunately you are the one who are greatly wrong here. You said you asked some people about my intention but do you think those people know me to the least? You are just displaying one-sided view, which is totally unfair. I'm sorry to say that if it was really for my own good I'd have taken a greater measure to get it but did I? You can see I didn't right? Which proves that you are wrong again.
raging_and_buring: You said my action hurts other GForummers and you also said my action was hated by GForummers, as if you people were democratically representing them (although we know that is not the case, and there was nothing democratic at all).
What 'tradition' you ask? When people hold power for a long time, they will set some sort of 'tradition' among their people to always see them as their leader. Not only that, they will have the greed to keep the 'mandate' only for themselves. This conservative 'tradition' if kept allowed will resulting the demise or decline of the community. This is historically proven. Know why the Chinese civilization keep continuing until today for more than 4 millennia, unlike other civilizations? Because they keep changing the imperial ruling mandate from one dynasty to another. The shift of the mandate may be raging but the people would not have revolted if the ancient Chinese government were democratic. See what good the democracy could give us if we opt for it?
To say that I am failed is wrong, as if you are saying Aung-san Suu Kyii, the leader of Burmese democratic party are failed as well. She won the election but she is still not given the chance by the Junta who abusing their power. Similar to that situation, I am NOT failed whatsoever in my struggle for democracy but I was lost in the battle because the battlefield was 'uneven' and always siding with the 'conservative' staff members right from the beginning.
It looks like the reign of GForum will continue to be in the hands of certain people who currently hold the status quo for many years to come, though I will never keep silent watching it. I will continue to act accordingly with the situation if the situation needs me to act again. To say that I am doing all this for my own good is totally wrong either. I was just want the reign of power in GForum to break free from the clutch of these certain people. Besides, there is no point for me to do this if it is only for my own good.
The staff members are responsible in setting up the current mindset of GForummer. The mindset in forum is like some sort of ideology, which means the change of the lineup of the staff members means the change of the mindset-ideology as well 9which also explains why a froum is similar to that of a nation). You may ask why we have to change when we are just fine? What 'fine'? Don't get trapped in that kind of mindset anymore, my fellow forummers. Have you ever heard, change makes our life interesting, and our life would be boring if there is nothing changing.
Remember, the seemingly peaceful and harmonious condition is just hiding the ugly face behind it. yes, the forum may appear peaceful right now but under the surface, it is unstable and unbalance. The staff may be doing their jobs great and they may seems to have strong bond between them, but what is the point of having all that although in reality there are only 2 or 3 of them who are having the actual power, controlling almost all aspect of the forum. I see some of them even set the way of how GForummer should think through the examples of their actions.
Well, it is just normal for the people to follow the path of their leader, and even worse, when appointing their successor, these so-called leaders will only choose those who think really like them. History has taught us that the colonial power will never give independence to their colonized nations until they have the locals who can think and act like them to replace them. I can see similar situation in GForum.
Without democracy, people have no power to decide on how long a leader must be in the reign. Somehow, I can expect hypocritical answers from those people to give excuses and rationalizing their actions of which something that they never allow me to do. Hypocritical, ain't it? Not only that, I can feel that by reading this many of them will unprofessionally being hostile towards me, saying that I am talking bad about GForum and then tells everybody that I am the enemy of GForum. Hey! If GForum is bad then I wouldn't have forumming there anymore. I'm not talking about how bad GForum is, I am just saying that how bad the existing ideology-system there, and it is you people who are being overly sensitive. I'm just saying that how bad some staff members are.
Funny isn't it that some GForum ex-moderators are always offered the moderator position by certain hi-ranking staff member, as if the position was always secured and reserved for them, no matter haw onay time they have resigned/retired. Those people in power also have a tendency to spread bad issue to all forummers (like doing public humiliation) because they know since they are in power, people will always listen to them and believing their words. For example, just because they are against my idea of democratic GForum, they blindly told other people that "what halfey is doing is bad, and he is a bad people because he is doing that bad thing". Funny. That is what I call power abuse.
And the greatest question for the current staff members; if you think we should not take the forum matters seriously, why do you people become the staff members and enforcing the forum rules? For this question, somehow I can also imagine hypocritical answers from some people in question. For other GForummer out there, don't get angry for no reason watching me doing this. This have nothing to do with you.

A Piece of Mind (4:2009)
2. The dream seems to have some kind of synchronization with the real world. That is why we always experience similar occurrences between the real world and our dream, especially when we are about to wake up from sleeping, as if our dream is connected to our surrounding, or in other words, generated by anything that happens in the real world. For instance, we might be dreaming of falling from riverbank although in reality we are actually falling from our bed while we are sleeping.
3. Magic should be explainable by science and logic because all physical tricks rely on science and logic to be performed. Therefore, if any magician claimed that their tricks are based on science and logic, but unable or refused to explain them in the scientific or logical way, then it must be something beyond that, which is not scientific and logical at all. In other words, that kind of magic are unexplainable by science and logic. To say such tricks are scientific and logical is an insult to the scientific knowledge itself. If they are really that scientific and logical, then it is like we could call all scientists and physicists are magicians or rather all magicians could be scientists on the other hand, but can we? This is damned and crazy.
4. Teaching and learning is not a one-sided, one-way process. Both teacher and student must be ready to teach and to learn (to be taught) at the same time. It is a process of information exchange and sharing until both parties achieved the same level of knowledge and understanding. Therefore, to say a student must not correcting his/her teacher's mistake is practically a wrong statement. Literally, even a teacher must see his/her student as the same level of him/her. The practice of educating itself is a combination of teaching and learning.
5. Unlike her immediate neighboring countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Philippines, Malaysia is seemingly less know globally. It might be because Malaysia has no historical significance be it today or in the past, compared to the above nations.

My first ever tag
All this time I only see the lame 'conventional/traditional' way of tagging people. Finally I've found the better and more creative way to tag, thanks to rarsa & VulpineNinja.
The rules: Copy-paste the list and highlights the one that has something to do with you. It's that simple.

A Piece of Mind (3:2009)
2. Weapons we know today might have been originated from kitchen wares and farming tools in various forms of sharp blades, pointed thrusters and blunt melee skull smashers. If that is the case then the real weapon would be bow-arrow and ballistic weapons like cannons and guns since they have no connection whatsoever with the above tools.
3. One person's success is another person's failure.
4. My greatest secret is something about myself that I don't even know.
5. Who were the first to come up with the idea that Alexander The Great and Iskandar Zulkarnain are the same person? It might have been the first Muslims. The first Muslims know about the greatness of Alexander in the antiquity. On the same time, from the Koran, they were also told about the greatness of Iskandar Zulkarnain. That is might be how they were able to came up with such idea. I wonder whether those people ever do any research to confirm the theory because it is dangerous to accept the idea just like that. The impact is with us, the latter generations because now the problem is the confusion we face from the historical facts we know today.

Say No To Smoking! (Tak Nak Merokok!)

Why smoking? Is it really to cure stress? So, does it mean non-smokers have no stress at all that they don't hove to smoke?
The truth is stress or whatever reason to smoke are just an excuse for those smokers to keep smoking. If not, how could the non-smokers overcome the stress resorting to smoking? In other words, smokers are smoking because they WANT to smoke and because they are proud to go against the rule or literally, to show their rebellious nature.
Kenapa nak merokok?

Toward The Terra

It has been a while since the last timer I write about anime review here. It also has been a while since the last time I have a favorite anime.
The story of Toward The Terra (Terra-e/Terra-he) takes place at human colonies at extrasolar planetary systems on the time the Earth has been abandoned for a few hundred years due to over-pollution which has resulted severe ecological and environmental damages on the planet.
Since the establishment of those colonies, human life has been controlled by an advanced super computer system that manages and administrates every aspect of human life, as if they are mentally enslaved by it unknowingly. During this time, human has evolved and give birth to the Mu people who are gifted with extraordinary features and psionic power.
The anime character design is a great blend between retro and present day style. The retro feature is quite noticeable on the character’s eye and hairstyle. We can see the uniquely rounded big eyes and full-big hair which is derived from the retro style.
Somehow, it is relatively hard to believe that this serious-plotted anime is adapted from the 70’s idea (from the same title manga series of the 70’s). The death of some important characters shows how heavy the storyline is.
One of the main characters that catch my eyes is the blind yet beautiful Lady Physis. She has the ability to see the 'real' future using tarot cards. Her ability may have been given by Soldier Blue, which means she might be just a normal human. However throughout the story she appears to possess Mu characteristics such as having longer lasting youth (slow aging process) and in the hostage situation she uses psionic shield to nullify Soldier Blue’s psionic attack to protect Keith Anyan. Her blindness may also the sign that she is a Mu because physical impairments are norm on Mu, as if it is some form of ‘compensation’ for their psionic abilities. Usually, the worse impairment they have the stronger psionic power they possess, although this is not necessarily true especially with the case of Jomy Marcus Shin (Soldier Shin) and the Mu babies like Tony who was born from Mu parents. However all Mu seems to have physical abnormalities such as extraordinary fast growth rate and longer lifetime that makes them really distinguishable from normal human. This becomes more significant on Mu descendants.
One distinctive trait of Mu is each person has different growth and aging pace which some even spans up to several hundred years. This can be seen where some Mu who were born at different time appear to be of the same age or in other cases, some Mu appear younger than those who were born later than them. Truth to be told, Soldier Blue himself is more than 200 year old. Of all Mu, Type Blue Mu is considered as the strongest Mu, categorized after the Mu’s first leader, Soldier Blue.
Throughout the story, other than his (late) parents, Jomy seems to be the only person Tony have respect on. Tony addresses Jomy as ‘Grandpa’ despite they look not so different in age, although in reality Jomy is roughly fit the title, considering how much older he is than Tony.
Romance also do present significantly in this anime albeit not really emphasized. This is to retain the plot focus on the struggle of the Mu to seek peaceful life. The real enemy of the Mu is not the human but the ultimate super computer system, The Grandmother which was originally designed for birth control through the implementation of the SD program (by replacing the ‘normal’ way of human reproduction). However, over time, the system has evolved ‘smarter’ to control humanity to the extent that it is able to erase human memories. It is assisted by other subordinate super computers like Mother Eliza and Terraz No. 5.
Jomy who is the successor of Soldier Blue’s leadership is now holding the responsibilities to guide all Mu back to the birthplace of humanity, Earth (Terra), in hope that they would live in peace there. However it is not an easy task for they are constantly being pursued by an ‘innocent’ villain, Keith Anyan.

Banjir...

Gambar ni diambil dari bilik member aku kat tingkat atas 9nasib baik le rumah sewa aku ni 2 tingkat, corner pulak tu!) Pada ketika ini (Ahad, 11 Jan), paras air dekat gate rumah aku mencecah paras lutut manakala lantai rumah pulak ditenggelami air separas buku lali.

Ini pulak gambar yg diambil di perkarangan car porch semasa paras tertinggi air mencecah separuh paha aku, manakala lantai rumah pulak ditenggelami sedalam 1 kaki. Masa ambik gambar ni le betis aku disengat sekor anak lipan.

Inilah lantai rumah sewa aku yg digenangi air sedalam kurang sikit dari 1 kaki (sebab paras air baru naik semula bila hujan tetiba lebat balik).

Nasib baik le paras air tak naik lagi. Kalo tak berendam le enjin motor aku tu, kene hantar workshop le nampak gayanya.

Ni pulak gambar rumah jiran kat belakang.

So you think you are Japanese?
(So what? I often use western cutlery too, so you think I am American?)
2. You address yourself with Japanese name in the internet (particularly in forums).
(So what? Many Asian use western-style name in the internet. Is there a problem with that?)
3. You use Japanese terms like '-chan', '-san', '-kun', 'rabu-rabu' and so on in communication.
(So what? It's fine if I use English then?)
4. You listen to Japanese songs and they appear as music to you.
(So what? They touches my heart and soul, unlike those lovey-dovey craps from the west)
5. And even if you happen to listen to English songs, they are all happen to be those from anime/game OST or western artists who have large fan base in Japan or at least those sung by Japanese artists.
(So what? Nobody said the Japanese must not sing a song in English although they are suck at it)
6. Anime appears to be more appealing to you than other visual entertainment.
(So what? Anime is more flexible to produce, no fussy actors involved and they are cute after all)
7. You think Japan is the best place to spend your lifetime.
(So what? At least it is not USA)

The Melancholy of Malaysian Anime Fans
2. Anime is considered only for kids. Therefore, watching anime is thought to be doing kiddy thing.
3. Anime is deemed for entertainment purposes only. Almost nobody care what is the anime about.
4. Even if there is Naruto, it will always be Naruto, and if there is Bleach, it will always be Bleach. Lame.
p/s: Thanks to Xenoaisam for the inspiration by his cool post here.

A Piece of Mind (2:2009)
2. Without built-in graphic equalizer, it is stupid for open-source media player media player to compete with iTunes. That is what I found on Songbird, Jajuk, aTunes and the likes, you name it.
3. English or Malay anime dub is only for stupid people who can't read or too lazy to read the subtitles. In most cases, subtitled (or subbed) anime is much better because it does not involve the replacement the original works, which in this case is the voice over works.

A Piece of Mind (1:2009)
2. It requires a programmer to type in cryptic terms in Linux's command line interface. Only GUI can guide a user to what s/he want to get. Coincidentally, GUI may become GUIDE. Some Linux fanatics claimed that command line is by far more powerful than the GUI. This is not always or necessarily true. The only thing that makes command line appears more superior is it is capable of entering hidden commands with extended or additional parameters. These 'hidden' command and parameters should have been made available via GUI but mysteriously developers still hesitate to do that. Perhaps they don't want the GUI become too complicated, cluttered and messy. That should not be a problem since clicking should be way easier than typing (you can click using only one hand compared to typing with keyboard which always requires both hands!). Besides, clicking is faster not only in practice but also to master. What is the point of having mouse if not for clicking, and what is the purpose of inventing mouse if not to make computing easier and more accessible to the masses? Dear Linux geeks and nerds, don't just learn programming and your beloved command lines. Go learn computing history as well, and please come back to Earth if you are still in your imaginary Linux heaven. It is still too early for you to go there. Remember, typing should only left for entering personal details, processing documents, naming-renaming job and programming, not for fussy stuff like entering commands. Don't trouble the end user to do all those crappy stuff. it should be the developer's job to address all the fuss away, to make GUI as the complete and ultimate replacement for command line interface. In fact, GUI was for replacing command line once and for all, so why stop now? For all command line huggers out there, if you worship command line that much, do not have a GUI in your PC, don't get yourself a mouse, and do your Photoshop (or in Linux case, GIMP), using only keyboard! What? You find it is hard? Which means it would be easier with the help of mouse clicks? Then eat back your words.
